Despite being a Terengganu citizen for the past 20 over years, I finally got to visit Pulau Perhentian for the first time. It's not B's first time travelling for long journey but it was his first time taking flight - car - boat to destination. It was a short flight so I'm glad he didn't seem to suffer much from ear pain due to pressure changes.

So thankful we chose to stay in Besar Island because we got to utilise our time at the beach for 2 days straight. The weather during the days were just perfect. It's nice to have everyone gather at the beach just doing their thing. The kids were having so much fun until they lost track of time too! It was a really laid back trip, we too did half day snorkeling tour and some of the boys also went fishing for dinner.

We visited Kecil Island on our 2nd day via speed boat(I would really like to call it a sampan 😅), which is just 5-10 mins across the sea to have seafood dinner. After dinner, we walked to Bubu Long Beach to have some drinks, just chill. The weather was changing swiftly on that night, from clear sky with a bright full moon then covered by fast moving dark clouds, we had to call our boatman to come pick us up quick when in fact, some of us just got our drinks served. 🥹 We have kids so we got the priviledge to return to our resort first, but as soon as we hop onto the boat, the rain is pouring, the lightening is flashing, the waves are crashing. We literally brace through the storm and soaked right through by big droplets of rain. Most exciting of all was that we had no life jackets.

It was really a life and death experience to be honest, at least to me. We were fortunate enough as we were able to reach our resort jetty even though it took 10 mins longer to get back; the other half of the group had to stop by another jetty halfway for about an hour because the waves were too strong to speed through. The resort was also in a blackout due to the unexpected storm. What an experience to end our last night here.

Already looking for my next island trip, we have no plans yet, hopefully we have the budget to do 2 islands next year. 😬 I'm thinking going back to Redang(I've said it so many times that the last island I would want to visit is Pulau Redang 🤫) because I really wanted to show Joe and the kids how beautiful and amazing it is to swim with the turtles there. Perhentian one turned out to be a huge disappointment because I've got better experience at Redang.
